As such, a recall has been issued that affects certain models of 2016-2019 Pilot and 2019 Passport SUVs, as well as certain 2017-2020 [Ridgeline]() pickup trucks. The recall statement from Honda’s [website]() says: “American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (Honda) is recalling certain 2019 model year Passport, 2016-2019 model year Pilot, and 2017-2020 model year Ridgeline vehicles. Gaps in the front seal between the hood and grill allow for air entry, potentially resulting in hood vibration at highway speeds. Over time the hood vibration could form stress fractures along the hood latch striker and separate the hood latch striker from the hood.” ### **The Honda recall notice and remedy** According to the NHTSA Honda has received 116 warranty claims related to this issue, and there are no reports of crashes or injuries. The remedy listed by Honda says that dealers will either repair the hood latch striker, or replace the hood if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 17, 2022. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda’s number for this recall is PBV. It’s good that no known injuries have occurred and as always it’s great of the manufacturer to do the recall and offer the remedy.
