So, we made a guess something like this would be coming soon. Now we know we hit pay dirt. Chrysler just announced it is debuting this concept SUV at the [Consumer Electronics Show]() in January, and it will be called Airflow. ### **What we know about the Chrysler Airflow** The short answer is: Not much. Based on information gleaned from EV Day, we know it will be built on the Stellantis STLA large battery electric vehicle (BEV) platform – the same one the new [Ram electric truck]() will be built on. Stellantis said this platform would have a range that goes up to 500 miles. And, since a lot of the Stellantis plans are set to go in motion by 2024, we anticipate we’ll see a production version of the Chrysler Airflow around that time. Plus, based on the brief glimpse we got, the interior will be very tech forward. But basically that’s about it. ### **Chrysler’s EV plans** With the debut of the Chrysler Airflow, Stellantis will also be announcing Chrysler’s electrification strategy. While one might take this to mean Chrysler is going all electric, we’ll point out electrification also includes plug-in hybrids such as [the Chrysler Pacifica](). So, we could see this be a PHEV to BEV plan – especially since Chrysler will now be able to build off Jeep’s 4xe expertise. Frankly, we’re just excited this means Chrysler is expanding its vehicle lineup beyond the 300 and Pacifica – and that Chrysler actually *has* a future. ### **The bottom line on the Chrysler Airflow** Details are minimal right now, but after January 5, 2022, the debut day, we expect to know a lot more about this electric concept. As we pointed out in our original EV Day article, the Chrysler Airflow concept is *too done*not to end up as a production vehicle. Since we’ll already be at CES to cover the [new Chevy Silverado EV](), we’ll be sure to pop on by the Chrysler booth to check this out as well.
