We all know he’s been waffling back and forth between the [Ram 1500 EcoDiesel]() and [2022 Tundra](), but it seems he’s finally [made a decision on which truck to buy](). Now that he has talked to a Toyota representative about ordering a 2022 Toyota Tundra, it seems like things are underway and on track to meet Esterdahl’s deadline. In the video below Esterdahl explains why he chose the Limited trim and added the TRD Off-Road Package as well as what all that means. ### **No pricing yet** In case you’re here to find out how much this truck will cost, even Esterdahl doesn’t know that yet. Sure he has an idea. He wouldn’t commit to buying something without some kind of price window, but Toyota hasn’t released the starting price or its build-and-price tool. ### **Ordering a 2022 Toyota Tundra Limited + TRD off-road** We all know Esterdahl isn’t a huge fan of those top-of-the-line packages. They not only cost a lot more, but they also aren’t practical for his way of life. So a middle-of-the-road package makes more sense. But there are a few things the Limited offers as standard features that the SR5 does not, so Esterdahl chose the Limited plus the TRD Off-Road Package and a few other options to get just what he wanted without having to fork over the cash for a Platinum or TRD Pro trim. A few must-have features Esterdahl has on his list include: - heated-and-cooled seats (standard with the Limited trim) - 14-inch infotainment screen (standard with the Limited trim) - heated steering wheel (optional on the Limited trim) - JBL premium audio system (optional on the Limited trim) - Power Package (add-on), which includes 400-watt power outlet in the bed and wireless charging in the cab - TRD Off-Road Package (add-on), which includes the tow package and auto-leveling LED headlamps ### **Fingers crossed** With a deadline of December 15, 2021, Esterdahl can’t afford to be choosy about the exterior or interior colors, but he is really hoping for blue on the outside and gray on the inside. He is hoping to see Toyota begin production of the 2022 Tundra the end of October or early November and for his truck to roll off the line the beginning of December. Esterdahl will be working with a dealership near the Tundra plant in San Antonio and has plans to fly there to pick it up and drive it home to western Nebraska in time to take off with his family for their Christmas vacation.
