Publisher Tim Esterdahl [just sold his 2021 Ford F-150 PowerBoost]() and his accountant is telling him [it’s time to buy a new truck]() or owe a ton in taxes. I think we can all agree that buying a new truck sounds way more fun. But, the truck Esterdahl really hoped to buy for the channel this year won’t be available until spring of 2022, and that won’t get him the tax break he needs. So, if the hybrid version of the [2022 Toyota Tundra]() isn’t going to be available in time, what are his options? ### No 2022 Toyota Tundra. Now what? At first, Esterdahl thought the new [2022 Chevy Silverado ZR2]() would be cool. It’s new and exciting, would be a good fit for the channel, but alas, that one won’t be ready by the end of the year either. He just had the 2021 Ford F-150 hybrid, so Esterdahl says he would like to buy something other than a Ford. Not wanting to enter the midsize truck arena right now, and noting that the Nissan Titan hasn’t had any major updates lately, Esterdahl is leaning towards a Ram pickup truck. ### Will the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel be the next truck? I guess we’ll just have to stay tuned to find out, but I’m hoping he’ll join me as [an EcoDiesel owner](). In fact, since I bought my truck, the Ram folks have updated the Uconnect system, and I’d love to see how Esterdahl likes [Uconnect 5]() because my truck’s Uconnect 4 is a little slow. Maybe he’ll also get some of the features I missed out on when I chose a lower trim level — things like memory seats and wireless charging. What do y’all think? Should Esterdahl get a Ram truck?
