For Ford Maverick Colors and Materials Designer Rob Brancheau, creativity struck while picking up Chinese food on a lunch break. In fact, this seemingly throwaway task directly inspired the interior of the Lariat trim of the [2022 Ford Maverick](). The story, according to Brancheau, goes like this: He was was waiting for his takeout and had a few moments to kill, so he decided to walk around a nearby clothing store. When he went inside, his eyes landed on a pair of Levi’s shoes in a rich navy with brown leather details and warm brown stitching. At this point, the sketches for the Lariat interior had been completed and approved. The only thing missing was the color scheme. Those shoes filled in the blank. Brancheau returned to work with those Levi’s shoes. “Instantly, the design team knew they were looking at what would be the interior colors of the Lariat trim on the all-new Ford Maverick,” he said. ### Ford Maverick colors and trims Maverick is available in Alto Blue Tinted Clearcoat Metallic, Area 51, Cactus Gray, Carbonized Gray Metallic, Cyber Orange Tri-Coat Metallic, Hot Pepper Red Tinted Clearcoat Metallic, Iconic Silver Metallic, Oxford White, Shadow Black and Velocity Blue Metallic. The First Edition package is available in Area 51, Carbonized Gray Metallic and an exclusive Rapid Red Metallic Tri-Coat. [When it comes out late this fall]() as a 2022 model, the Maverick will be offered in three trims: XL, [XLT]() and Lariat. For the first model year only, the Maverick First Edition package, which is built off the Lariat trim, will include unique graphics on the hood and lower doors, a high-gloss black-painted roof, soft tonneau cover, body-color door handles, high-gloss black skull caps and gloss black painted-and-machined 18-inch wheels for the hybrid or unique 17-inch aluminum wheels for the gas model. Additionally, there will be an FX4 package for any all-wheel-drive XLT and Lariat trims. According to Ford, the FX4 package adds more off-road capability with rugged all-terrain tires and suspension tuning, additional underbody protection, and off-road-focused drive modes like Mud/Rut and Sand, as well as the addition of Hill Descent Control.
