By Jill Ciminillo Published: 2021-07-09T17:13:41+00:00 Updated: 2025-07-23T15:16:09+00:00 ![Featured image]() If I asked my Magic 8 Ball about the potential of an electric Chrysler SUV, it would likely pull an oddly illuminated triangle that says: Signs point to yes. After skimming through the 3-hour [2021 Stellantis EV Day YouTube video](), somewhere around the hour and a half mark, Ralph Gilles, chief design officer for Stellantis, pops on the screen talking about the STLA Large battery electric vehicle (BEV) platform, which will have a range of up to 500 miles. As he goes through the presentation, we learn that vehicles such as an electric Dodge muscle car and [the Ram 1500 electric truck]() will be on this platform. We also learn that Stellantis will be building eight electrified vehicles on this platform *within the next 3 to 5 years*. But the vehicle Gilles pops out of to begin his portion of the presentation? It’s a Chrysler SUV. The winged logo is more modern and ringed with a glowing light. But it’s a Chrysler. We see the logo on the front, and we see it again on the steering wheel in the interior. Sure, it could be a red herring. It’s certainly only a concept. However, from the glimpses we get during the presentation (sorry for the crappy screen grabs below, but Stellantis didn’t provide photos), it’s a *very*well-thought-out concept. Which usually means a production vehicle is close. Frankly, though the Pacifica is an amazing vehicle, we were kind of thinking Chrysler with its two-vehicle lineup was going to be hung out to dry. But that Magic 8 Ball has different ideas. Especially since Chrysler was included in the Stellantis brand statements: “Clean Technology for a New Generation of Families.” That entire statement screams electric Chrysler SUV. We can’t see a lot from the brief on-screen appearances, but this specific vehicle appears to be a two-row SUV with clean lines, a nose similar to the Pacifica and an interior sporting a lot of passenger screens *a la*Jeep Grand Wagoneer. ### **The bottom line on an electric Chrysler SUV** We think the Magic 8 Ball is spot on, and we’ll probably start seeing concepts or teasers very soon. This vehicle is too *done*not to. Since the electric Ram 1500 truck is coming for 2024 on the same platform, it wouldn’t surprise us if the electric Chrysler SUV would show up around the same time.
