The PowerBoost can power your house without being turned on thanks to the power stored in the batteries. The F-150 hybrid is actually a generator that produces 7.2 kilowatts of power. You can use the power stored in the batteries without the truck being turned on. When the battery runs low, the truck turns on to recharge the batteries. If you are using more than 2400 watts, the engine will run at the same time as you’re running the plugs. In most cases, you’ll be using less than that cause you’re running minimal things just to stay warm, keep the fridge on, etc. The generator is very quiet and the truck uses very little gas to charge the battery.
