We’re all dying for a sneak peek, but so far, we’ve just got camouflaged trucks. We were able [to get our hands on some video]() of one of them showing off during testing, and wow! A 5.2-liter V-8 is one of the expected engine variants for this truck, and we’re expecting 725 to 750 horsepower — if the rumors are correct. That means this truck is a direct counter to the new [Ram 1500 TRX,]() which currently boasts the most horsepower of any street-legal pickup truck on the market. For reference, the current generation Raptor is equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 EcoBoost engine that delivers 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. This is juxtaposed against TRX’s 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Check out our[spec-by-spec comparison]() for more Raptor vs. TRX details. While we don’t know exactly what to expect, one thing is very clear: Raptor is going to have to do something BIG to stay competitive against the Ram 1500 TRX. The next-gen Raptor should have one of the best interiors Ford has ever produced, and after the TRX, and we’re hoping for launch control too. (Isn’t everyone?)
