What to expect! (Image courtesy of f150gen14.com) Though the Ford Raptor isn’t due to be revealed until next year, our friends at [the F150gen14.com forum]() managed to get their hands on some photos and images of the front end. Frankly, with what we’re seeing, there are no surprises. While many outlets are calling this the 2021 Raptor, we’re going to buck the trend and say it’ll be a 2022 model, since we haven’t seen it yet and we’re skeptical Ford would launch a next-generation model with in the same model year. As you can see from the images, the 2022 Raptor will adopt the 2021 Ford F-150 design tweaks, and it will maintain the stamped Ford badging on the grille. (Image courtesy of f150gen14.com) What you cannot see is the engine. [We’ve heard rumors](), however, there will be *two*engines instead of one. I mean, how else will it be able to compete with the beefy [new Ram TRX]()? [Currently it doesn’t](). So, what would we possibly see under the hood? Well, the 3.5-liter V-6 will likely be carried over. However, we could also see Ford adding the 5.2-liter supercharged V-8 from the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500. This is a 760-horspower engine. They already have it, and it’s pretty awesome (we may have driven it on a racetrack in Las Vegas in another life). So, why wouldn’t they? That will be the million dollar (or at least the $55k) question we’ll hopefully be able to answer in the next year. ### **The bottom line on the 2022 Raptor** Ford is really good at keeping its future product and details under wraps. So, a lot of what we “know” is really guesswork right now. But we do expect this to be unveiled within the next couple months, and we think Ford would be silly not to include an up-level engine. So, stay tuned for more soon.
