(Image courtesy of Ford Motor Co.) We’ve been seeing production delays throughout the automotive industry with factory shutdowns amid Covid-19 lockdowns in various states. And now, we’ve learned the highly anticipated 2021 Ford Bronco will see delivery delays as well. This is actually the second Covid-related delay for Bronco, as it [was supposed to be revealed in April]() at the New York Auto Show, which didn’t happen, but got pushed back to a virtual reveal in July. Now, [CNBC reports]() there are problems with the supply chain, and there will be further delays. The ordering process was supposed to begin on Monday, Dec. 7, but has been pushed back to mid-January. As CNBC states, customers will have until March 19 to finalize their orders, and actual deliveries will move from spring 2021 to the summer. When the 2021 Bronco finally arrives on dealer lots, it will have [seven trims]() and a starting price of [just less than $30k](). ![Ford Bronco delays]() Due to Ford Bronco delays, the Sasquatch Package with the manual transmission won’t be available until the 2022 model year. Though Ford originally [didn’t plan to build this as an option](), it relented after considerable feedback from its customers. Now we’ll see how badly these customers really want this specific vehicle. Will they be willing to wait the extra year? ### **The bottom line on Ford Bronco delays** While customers are getting anxious, these delays should surprise no one as Covid-19 cases begin to rise again. And Ford likely won’t be the only bearer of bad news in the coming months. There have been several vehicles in the last 8 months that have experienced delays, and the extent to which the supply chain is affecting actual production and delivery might not be known until well in to 2021.
