(Photo courtesy friend of the website) We have more new photos of the upcoming 2022 Toyota Tundra including a good look at the front-end design, new lights and a picture of the rear tailgate. We compare this new acquisition to the [recent spy photos]() we purchased to get a clearer picture of the 2022 Tundra. In our [most recent video on the 2022 Tundra]() below, we compare the dealer pictures to the spy photos. The lights and design lines seem to match up pretty well. [Embedded video]() ### **2022 Toyota Tundra details we expect to see** As we stated yesterday, we expect to see a hybrid twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6, and there is a lot of speculation about the death of the 5.7-liter V-8. Also, there are the ever-present rumors and demand from fans for [a diesel Tundra]() as well. A recent trademark filing seems to indicate this could happen. ![2022 Toyota Tundra]() The bed looks like it will share the new light design as well as add some additional lighting. (Photo courtesy friend of the website) Next, we expect a new interior complete with a 12-inch navigation screen to help the truck be more competitive in the segment. Payload and towing will likely increase as more advanced metals are used and Toyota works to light-weight their truck — a very common practice these days. Fuel economy is going to be the largest driving force behind offering a hybrid as well as a lighter [Toyota Tundra]() truck. We had a chance to drive and tow with the new [2021 Ford F-150 hybrid]() and if Toyota can come close to Ford’s EPA number of 24/24 city/highway, it would be a big improvement over the current 13/17 for the Tundra. ![2022 Toyota Tundra]() A closer look at the front-end lights shows an interesting design that may or may not make it into production. (Photo courtesy friend of the website) The truck will be a 2022 model, and it is slated to be unveiled in the spring of 2021 and will be on dealer lots in the fall. ### **The bottom line on the 2022 Tundra** More spy photos and computer generated images mean a new Tundra is getting closer to coming out. As times goes on, we expect to see even more images and leaked information on powertrain and other details.
