So, I’m inviting you to follow along on our new truck journey! The reasoning is simple: We’ll get better comparison videos, have more towing and RV camping opportunities and learn from ownership experiences. Most important, however, I won’t have to drive my [1962 Chevy C10]() in the winter. Brrr. In this video, I’m checking out the local dealers on a cold Sunday. Specifically, I narrow it down to a [Chevy](), [Ford]() or a [Ram](). The reasons are pretty simple. I want a truck that sells in volume (sorry Nissan), I’ve owned a Tundra before (sorry Toyota), and I want a truck more people are shopping for overall (sorry GMC). Basically, I want the mid-level and most popular trucks on the market. [Embedded video]() After checking out what the dealerships have, it is pretty clear I’m going to need to spend in the $45-60k range for a crew cab with leather and bucket seats. Also, I’m going to need to expand my search from the local dealers since inventory is pretty low. Plus, my wife and I need to nail down what travel trailer we are going to purchase as well. This way I’ll know the exact payload and towing numbers I’ll need to pull this RV. Finally, this search is going to take some time since I’m pretty slow when making a big decision these days. Plus, there are likely going to be some pretty good deals toward the end of this year, so by waiting and taking my time, I can save some money. I also plan on leasing due to the tax write offs and the desire to flip trucks more frequently. ### **The bottom line on truck shopping** Follow along as I put my money where my mouth is and find a new pickup to drive around. It should be quite the experience shopping for a new truck, and this old dog will probably learn a few new things.
