Mopar is introducing a new factory-built, factory-backed doors-off mirror kit for Jeep owners looking to safely enjoy the ultimate open-air driving experience in their Jeep Wrangler or Jeep Gladiator. When original, factory-installed front doors with attached mirrors are removed, two separately mounted side mirrors may be quickly and easily installed for an enhanced rear view. Not so fast Ford Bronco! The Mopar doors-off mirror kit for Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator models will address one of the Bronco’s competitive advantage for some consumers.

The Mopar doors-off mirror kit will do exactly as you would expect and allow owners to add two separately mounted side mirrors back on their Jeep vehicle.

This had been a key difference, and probably still is, between the [Bronco and Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator](<https://pickuptrucktalk.com/2020/07/ford-bronco-vs-jeep-wrangler-by-the-specs/>). For the [2021 Ford Bronco](<https://pickuptrucktalk.com/2020/07/an-icon-returns-ford-unveils-jeep-slaying-2021-ford-bronco/>), when you remove the doors, you keep the mirrors since they are mounted on the body of the vehicle, not on the doors.

The Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles, by design, have their mirrors mounted on the doors and when you remove the doors, you remove the mirrors.

### **How the Mopar doors-off mirror kit attaches**

Now, with this kit, and a T40 bit wrench found in the standard tool kit in new Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator models, you can add the black powder-coat finish mounting brakes on the vehicle.

Each mirror in the kit attaches to a cowl-end cap bolt and the upper-door hinge, Plus, a custom thumb wheel-nut-clamp is used as an attachment point to the door flange.

This mirror kit also has the additional benefit of a built-in break-away feature to prevent damage while in tight spaces on the road or trail.

Mopar says the kit is “available for purchase as a stand-alone part in the US and Canada, the new [Mopar Doors-off Mirror Kit](<https://www.mopar.com/jeep/en-us/shop/accessories.html>) (Part # 82215331AB) has a US manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $295. The kit is available for current-generation (2018-current) Jeep Wrangler and (2020-current) Jeep Gladiator models.”

The kit also comes with the Mopar factory-backed warranty coverage for 2 years/unlimited miles from date of purchase or up to the remainder of the new-vehicle’s warranty of 3 years/36,000 miles.

### **The bottom line on the Mopar doors-off kit**

The Ford Bronco was designed specifically to compete with the Jeep Wrangler and engineers took dead aim at several items they perceived as flaws on Jeeps like the lack of mirrors when the doors are removed. This is Jeep’s first attempt at addressing this concern and we expect future Jeep models to better address this problem than installing mirrors yourself.

Ultimately, competition between the Bronco and Wrangler is good for you, the consumer. We hope this battle heats up and consumers continue to see the benefits.
