But if a new report is to be believed, a key feature could be adopted by [Chevrolet]() just in time for the 2022 Silverado. According to the folks at[GM-Trucks.com](), Chevrolet is developing its own version of Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert. The feature has been a Ford exclusive in the pickup segment since 2017, but GM has a similar system that can be equipped on the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon, and the Cadillac Escalade. The version listed for the trucks will be listed under the RPO code “UKV” and is dubbed “Extended Side Blind Zone Alert.” Like on the SUVS, the system extends the range of the blind spot detection system to cover the sides of the trailer. The publication’s source claim that the feature was supposed to be rolled out on the Silverado and Sierra for 2021, so it could still appear as a mid-year update like the rumored Multi-Flex Tailgate. However, COVID-19 has delayed the roll out of many features for other automakers, and as a result we could see it roll out as a 2022 addition instead. There’s actually a bit of irony in play here, since seperate rumors and a lone sighting suggests that Ford is looking to make its own version of GM’s Multi-Pro tailgate.
