The latest application of the Hellcat engine addressed a noticeable void in the Dodge lineup and finally brought the Durango to the vaunted promised land of horsepower. But what if [Dodge]() and SRT designers were allowed to go even wilder in their attempt to create yet another Hellcat infused creation? A new rendering appears to provide a glimpse into this alternate reality. The rendering created by Hungarian artist **[X-Tomi Design]()** shows the Durango not as a three-row SUV, but rather as a single row muscle truck for utility-minded enthusiasts. Unlike the upcoming Ram Rebel TRX, this truck would be focused primarily on dominating the street scene, and it’s pretty reminiscent in basic profile to the utes that still remain an Australian market curiosity. The biggest change of course is behind the A-Pillar, with *X-Tomi* chopping the roof off. and removing the two rows of rear seating to create a commendably sized pickup bed. ![]() Dodge Durango Hellcat pickup rendering While the engineering challenges of making the Durango’s platform work with both the Hellcat engine and the pickup bed would be immense, we actually like what we see here. The performance pickup sub-segment is dead for the moment, but for a brief period of time in the early- to mid-2000’s you could get a [Ford]() F-150 SVT Lighting, Chevrolet Silverado SS, as well as the mighty Ram SRT-10 pickup. These days, it’s no secret that Ram is currently lacking a mid-size competitor to the Ford Ranger and the [Chevrolet]() Colorado, with**[various rumors swirling]()** of its existence deep within the confines of Auburn Hills. If Ram does indeed make a mid-size truck of its own, having a performance focused model would not only help bring some attention to the segment, but also serve as a very potent message to both Ford and Chevrolet.
