The results are in for the first quarter of 2020 and the numbers are all across the board with varying results. Even with the COVID-19 pandemic disrupting everyday life, some truck brands were big winners.

Without further ado, let’s get to the numbers.

| **Full-Size Truck Sales** | **Q1 Sales** | **Last Year Q1 Sales** | **Quarterly Change** | **Year to Date** | **Last Year to Date** | **Year Over Year Change** |

| Nissan Titan | 5,732 | 9,683 | -40.8% | 5,732 | 9,683 | -40.8% |
| **Mid-Size Truck Sales** | **Q1 Sales** | **Last Year Q1 Sales** | **Quarterly Change** | **Year to Date** | **Last Year to Date** | **Year Over Year Change** |
| Toyota Tacoma | 53,636 | 58,183 | -7.8% | 53,636 | 58,183 | -7.8% |
| Chevrolet Colorado | 21,430 | 33,494 | -36% | 21,430 | 33,494 | -36% |
| Ford Ranger | 20,980 | 9,421 | 122.7% | 20,980 | 9,421 | 122.7% |

| Honda Ridgeline | 8,125 | 6,952 | 16.9% | 8,125 | 6,952 | 16.9% |
| GMC Canyon | 4,483 | 6,954 | -35.5% | 4,483 | 6,954 | -35.5% |

As you can see from the chart, there are a lot of ups and downs for different brands. Keep in mind, overall, the automotive industry was down 15 percent with many dealerships being forced to close.

Ford really got hit with the COVID-19 with a big drop in sales and their spokesperson said things were going well until March 10 then the numbers plummeted.

GM saw some big gains on both the Silverado and Sierra with the light-duty trucks leading a sales increase. It also likely helped morale with the Silverado reclaiming the number 2 spot back from upstart Ram.

Ram continues to see an improvement in sales and likely would have had a larger bump if the pandemic didn’t screw things up.

Toyota’s trucks continue to be about flat in sales as it holds onto its market share while waiting for a new Tundra coming next year.

Nissan continues its downward trend with sales numbers falling below industry averages. The new Titan and Frontier are likely both seeing the impact on the virus and really just got hit with some incredibly bad luck with regards to timing.

The GM mid-size twins continue to trend downwards likely due to the fact they are the second oldest models on the market ahead of the Frontier.

The Ranger sees a big jump and has some good volume after a shaky start in Q1 of 2019.

Finally, the Jeep Gladiator once again crests the 15k mark while the surprising Honda Ridgeline continues to see sales growth in a very competitive market.
