This award is just the latest in a long list of accomplishments that the Gladiator has managed to rack up since the Jeep pickup initially made its debut sometime ago. The RMNAP voting committee considered four different categories (performance, fuel economy, value, and vehicle features to help narrow the field of contenders down to four finalists. In the Gladiator’s case it has to fend off two GM entries (the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2.7 liter and the 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4,) and its own corporate stablemate the 2019 Ram 2500. This was a formidable field of entries, but it is yet another example of the unique engineering, features, and identity that was baked into the Gladiator during its long development cycle. In addition to its awards, the Gladiator has also proven to be a solid member of Jeep’s lineup, with sales for the adventure focused pickup being right up there with the Wrangler SUV.
