Here is what we know. [Embedded video]() It is no secret Ram is working on a new lineup of heavy-duty pickups and among those will be a new Power Wagon. The [Power Wagon]() is a brute of a pickup with locking rear and front differentials, an electronically controlled disconnecting front axle, a bumper mounted Warn winch along with a big 6.4L V8 gas engine. ![2020 Ram 2500 Power Wagon Spied - What We Know]()A new 2020 Ram 2500 Power Wagon will likely keep all of those features and add to them. For example, it will likely share a lot of the infotainment upgrades found in the 2019 Ram 1500 as well as styling. We expect the new Power Wagon styling to mirror the 2019 Ram Rebel in many ways and it is likely the new pickup will retain the same tires albeit maybe with new rims. ![2020 Ram 2500 Power Wagon Spied - What We Know]()How about a Cummins diesel? Likely not. We often ask why Ram doesn’t put a big diesel engine, found throughout their heavy-duty lineup, into the Power Wagon and we always get the same response – they can’t with the Warn winch for safety reasons. The shape of the bumper and the winch make passing front crash safety regulations nearly impossible according to various Ram reps we have talked with over the years. For what’s it worth, we still think the [Nissan Titan XD could be a power wagon competitor]() if it were to offer a winch and the front disconnecting axle. ![2020 Ram 2500 Power Wagon Spied - What We Know]()The new 2020 Ram 2500 Power Wagon will likely be unveiled in January, 2019 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Mi. Our guess is there will be media drives in the fall of 2019 and it will be a 2020 model hitting show rooms in September. Since it is a 3/4-ton pickup, there will be no official announcement on fuel economy. We expect [pricing to be largely the same as the outgoing model]() as well as towing and payload numbers. Frankly, that is just fine with us, the Power Wagon is pretty darn good just the way it is currently.
