The comprehensive refresh includes a unique feature on the front of the [4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD trucks]() that has been inspired by the Camaro ZL1. “Chevy’s designers and engineers were obsessed with making this Silverado the most customer-focused medium-duty truck among its major competitors — and this is evident in every design decision,” said Ed Peper, U.S. vice president, GM Fleet. ![Chevrolet’s 2019 Silverado Chassis Trucks Get Camaro-Inspired Flowtie]()Called the flowtie, the design element is a chrome outline of the traditional Chevrolet bowtie on the grille, but with the protruding center removed. The removal of the center allows for increased engine airflow, which improves performance. In the [heavy duty trucks](), the flowtie helps maximize airflow through the 2019 model’s more brutish grille. The result is lower engine fluid temperatures. The trucks also feature other innovations including a up to 50-degree wheel cuts, an available factory-installed rear air suspension, and a diesel exhaust fluid tank on the passenger side of the vehicle. Production of the 2019 heavy duty models featuring the flowtie will begin in late 2018. Order guides will be available this spring.
