If this happens, movement of the shift lever will not change the transmission gear regardless of the position of the shift lever. The shifter indicator also could display inaccurate information, and the key could be removed even if the vehicle is not in Park, increasing the risk of a crash. Ford said it is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with this issue. **The Fix:** Dealers will remove the roll pin and replace it with an updated part for free. Owners should ensure the parking brake is applied whenever the vehicle is parked before getting the repair. **What Owners Should Do:** Ford did not immediately announce an owner notification schedule.
